Michael "Mike" C. Wister, 58, originally of Elizabeth, NJ, but most recently of Lansdale, PA, passed away suddenly after a short illness at home on Saturday, Sept. 28, as detailed in his obituary.
For 20 years, Mike ran small roadside BBQ stands, then he ran Wister’s Barbecue on Main Street for five years before moving to Broad Street in Lansdale where it's been for over two years, as explained in his obituary.
In his spare time, he enjoyed music and collecting cars; one of his favorite cars was a Dodge Challenger SRT Demon which he purchased a few years ago, according to his obituary.
Mike was a class of 1984 graduate of Union Catholic High School and a class of 2000 graduate of Temple University, where he earned a BS in finance and studied Risk Management & Insurance, as shown on his social media.
He is survived by his ex-wife Diana Bromiley who previously ran those roadside stands with him, and his son Michael J. Wister of Quakertown, according to his obituary.
His son plans to take over the business, as explained in a Facebook post on the restaurant's page.
In the obituary guestbook, Gary Gaboriault of GBR Construction, Inc. wrote:
"I enjoyed working with Michael in realizing his dream of Wisters BBQ in Lansdale. I will miss him."
